Chaad
I like disguise. Yet it could be a general skill. It's kind of an artistic ability. So is performance. I could list performance as an artistic ability and be done with it.
Awareness, or maybe call it intuition, might be good. I'd make it intellect related. Spidey sense, I like it. I really need to clarify why it's not perception though. -Maybe make perception always active only.
Those are three good ones. Thanks, Paul. I also agree with keeping the number of skills down.
As for Cha, I still don't like when a player that does roleplay well is trumped by one that doesn't. Too many times, I've seen gameplay that doesn't match the charisma score. In fact, I'd almost call it the rule rather than the exception. Isn't it lame if a DM has to say "Hey dude, play your charisma!"? Why create that contradiction in the first place?
As for dice rolls saving time, I think there are better options involving limited talk.
I am of the philosophy that there shouldn't be a dice roll for everything a character does. Particularly the roleplay component. -Too 'systemy'.
